How much does a NewbornNotes emailable birth announcement card cost?
The price is $20, which includes all personalization and services.

How soon will I receive my birth announcement?
We typically turn around orders within 24 hours of receiving payment. If the turnaround time should exceed 48 hours, we will refund your money.

My baby hasn’t arrived yet. Can I order a NewbornNotes announcement in advance?
Yes! If you are still expecting, you can select a design and pay in advance to expedite the ordering process. When your baby arrives, simply email us a photo and the stats. We will be waiting to hear from you around the due date!

What format will my announcement come in?
We will send you a JPEG file of your announcement. JPEG files are easy to attach and send, and virtually any computer will be able to open them without any problems. You can even post the file on Facebook if you'd like. The size of each announcement is 800 x 534 pixels.

Can I print out my emailable birth announcement?
Yes. Each announcement can be printed out so that you have a tangible version to paste into your baby book. Please keep in mind that the quality of the printout will depend on your printer and paper.

Do you have a refund policy?
We do not provide refunds (except when we don’t come through within the guaranteed 48 hours). But we will work with you to make sure that you are 100% satisfied with your purchase. This means that should you find any errors in the wording, we will correct it quickly.

Please note that while we can make changes to the wording of the announcement, we cannot swap out the photo once we’ve sent the announcement to you. However, if you’d like to create a second announcement with another photo (using the same design and wording), we can provide that for an additional $10.

Do you take other methods of payment besides PayPal?
If you’d like to send us a money order or cashier’s check, email your request to info@newbornnotes.com and we will provide you with a mailing address. (Sorry, personal checks and cash are not accepted.) But PayPal is definitely the easiest and most secure way to make your payment. The service is free, and you can use any major credit card safely.

What kind of photo is best for making into an announcement?
We recommend photos taken with a digital camera ONLY. Most camera phones do not take photos that are high enough in quality for our purposes. Please do not send us low-quality, blurry, or poorly lit photos. We want to provide you with the best-looking announcement possible, but a lot will depend on your photograph.

When taking your photo, do not zoom in completely on your baby’s face – we like to have some background to work with, so that when we fit your photo onto the announcement, there is room to crop.

Also, keep in mind the orientation of the photo. If you’ve chosen a design with a space for a portrait-oriented (standing up) photo, you should send us a portrait-oriented photo. If you’ve chosen a design with a landscape (lying down) photo, you should send us a landscape-oriented photo. We can, however, try to work with whatever you send us, even if it’s not oriented correctly.

Should I crop or adjust the color on my photo?
No – please DO NOT use a photo editor to adjust your original photo in any way. Photo editing programs tend to automatically reduce the size of your original, and we need to work with the largest size possible. If necessary, we will help you crop or adjust the color on your photo with our advanced editing tools. We cannot, however, make a very small photo larger or improve the quality of a photo, so please send us only large, high-quality photos.

Is it possible to have more than one photo on an announcement?
Yes, but it would require us to work around the number of photos you’d like to include (up to 3 in total), and so would cost an additional $15 (that’s $35 total).

How does the one month of free hosting work?
We like to provide our customers with options for sharing their birth announcement, so in addition to sending you a JPEG file of your announcement that you can email to family and friends, we give you a link to a private page on our site, where anyone who knows that it’s there can view the announcement on the Internet. This way, you can just tell someone to go to www.newbornnotes.com/yourchildsname and they will be able to view your announcement. Your announcement will remain on our site for one month.

Don’t worry about strangers being able to view the announcement – only the people who you tell about the page will be able to find it on the Internet. It will not be linked to the main NewbornNotes site in any way. If you would rather not have your announcement appear on a free page, however, just let us know and we simply won’t create one.

Can I continue to host my announcement on the NewbornNotes site after my one month is up?
Yes, we can provide hosting for as long as you’d like. The first month of hosting is free, and after that, we charge $5 a month. If you’d like to purchase a year’s worth of hosting, there is a discounted rate of $50 (a savings of $10).

Do you provide any other type of announcement besides birth announcements?
At the moment, we only have birth announcements available. However, if you like our design style and would like us to personally create another type of announcement (e.g., graduation, save-the-date, new address, invitations) for you, please email us at info@newbornnotes.com, and we will be happy to work with you. Personally created announcements will cost anywhere from $50 to $75.
